In this absolutely stunning ring, a magnificently cut, supremely scintillating and blazing white 4.36 carat marquise diamond displays its radiant splendor, embraced on each side by a sparkling white pear-shaped diamond. Together, the three stones create a captivating and fabulous flash of light and sparks of prismatic color. Breathtaking! The marquise diamond is accompanied by a GIA Grading Report stating: E color - VVS2 clarity. The diamonds are set in platinum atop a gleaming 18K gold shank. We acquired the ring along with a Tiffany & Co. appraisal from 1979 describing the ring as platinum. We assume that the 18K gold shank, signed 'Tiffany', along with larger side stones, was a later replacement. N.B. - Tiffany appraised the ring in 1979 for $90K which, according to an inflation calculator, is the equivalent of $316,930 today; and 1979 was just before diamond prices went through the roof! Currently size 6.
